What is
Necromancy?

Necromancy is technically a form of Elementalism. Its first discovery ended the Age of the Corrupted and began an era in which the new magic became a genuine civilizational force.

Principles,

& consequences.

A causal inheritance

The Redeemer God saga and the collapse of the geographically isolated empire of men helped create the conditions from which Necromancy emerged.

Civilizational force

Where Hemomancy remained hidden and geographically limited, Necromancy developed and spread broadly enough to reshape life across Urmatoth.

Reach

Its effects were profound across Urmatoth and extended, to a lesser degree, across the wider Cube.

Further into
Necromancy.

Not Ancient Necromancy

Blood Magic was once called Ancient Necromancy, but the two practices are not identical. Hemomancy is specifically Elementalism of Soul; Necromancy is a separate elemental form.

The unfinished record

The detailed practice, costs and schools of Necromancy remain open canon. The archive preserves the distinction between what is known and what is still being built.
