What is
Elementalism?
Elementalism is the fundamental magic of the Celestial Domain. It recognizes life as a balance of nine elements rather than a single undifferentiated force.
Principles,
practice
& consequences.
Nine branches
Each element supports its own branch. Hemomancy is the elemental magic of Soul, while Necromancy is also technically contained within Elementalism.
Affinity
Most practitioners can control only one element. Acquiring an affinity is difficult and dangerous; those who command multiple elements are known as polymancers.
Further into
Elementalism.
The Irin
The Irin were complete polymancers with access to all nine elements—an inheritance of the Celestial guardian from whom they were divided.
Healing
Health generally depends on balance among the nine elements. Healing can come through physical elements, emotional rebalancing or direct elemental magic, though repairing physical substance also requires Quasar-derived power.
Formal recognition
Elemental forces existed and were used long before the full system was understood. The Age of Power opens with formal recognition of the remaining elemental forms.
